Just 2 months after tying the knot, Ailee and Choi Si-hoon are opening up about their next big step, which is to start a family with children. Particularly, in the June 28 upload on their couple YouTube channel, the newlyweds shared an intimate and candid look into their lives, with a vlog featuring discussions about preparing for their first child.
When Choi Si-hoon was asked if he was currently detoxing, he responded playfully, “What’s wrong with my sperm? Is it dirty?” He then added on a more serious note, “I’ve stopped drinking and smoking for the sake of our baby.”
The couple emphasized that beyond just physical health, emotional communication and mutual understanding are key to planning for a child. “We talk a lot. It’s not just about quitting smoking and drinking, there are little mismatches we need to adjust too. It’s a long process of adjusting all those things comprehensively”, Choi explained.
When asked whether they preferred a daughter or a son, Ailee lovingly said she didn’t mind either way. However, Choi Si-hoon expressed a soft spot for having a daughter, stating, “I hope we have a girl for my wife. I’ve seen how different households are when there’s a daughter. Since I’m a guy, there are things I just don’t understand.”
The couple also shared a light-hearted moment when Choi jokingly recalled his past sperm test from his time in the military. “The military doctor said it needed to be reported to a medical conference. He called me a ‘sperm king’ because my count was 12 times higher than average,” he said, making Ailee burst into laughter.
Ailee and Choi Si-hoon officially registered their marriage in August 2024 and celebrated their wedding ceremony on April 20, 2025 in Seoul. Since then, the couple has been steadily growing their online presence with their relatable, humorous, and genuine content.
